James Garner had a career that spanned more than five decades in movies and television. He’s always played the good guy, ever since he made his first appearance on the screen in the 50s. Some of his memorable television roles included The Rockford Files, 8 Simple Rules and Maverick. He received an Academy Award nomination for his role in Murphy’s Romance. He died on July 19, 2014 from an acute heart attack.
